I give the slightest edge to Silkwood but Sophie's Choice is immaculate too.

I give the slightest edge to Silkwood but Sophie's Choice is immaculate too. Do you like her in The French Lieutenant's Woman? I do! I haven't seen an 80s Streep performance I didn't like and French Lieutenant had that dual role film-within-a-film stuff that was pretty cool and an actor's dream, but to me Silkwood and Sophie's are in a league all by themselves.

Surprised this is her only three pete. Would have thought she was nominated like six years in a row at some point since it felt like she got nodded every year for a while.

That's tough. I think she's technically best in Sophie's Choice, but more earthy and very convincing in Silkwood, and I haven't seen enough of French Lieutenant.

Sophie's Choice. I used to say Silkwood but I think because I love that movie so much more, my bias took over. Definitely not The French Lieutenant. She's overrated in that.

Tough call, but going with Silkwood.
