This is one of the greatest performances in modern acting - film, tv, theater......... whatever - I saw it on Broadway - he won the Tony also (his 3rd).

I don't think he will do this again so if you are in London and can see it - you should, if you can, and hopefully it will get a taping for home / theater viewing. Not sure if he'll bring back to the US, but.......

At the Apollo theater, tickets on sale.

Rylance is having quite a year - the pretty good The Outfit with his best performance in a while in it imo, a comedy where he's a golfer, possibly as Satan for Terence Malick, and this victory lap..........everybody is on the West End it seems.......Adams, Chastain, Rylance.....

Article from January..... seems Rylance likes the idea of returning to Jerusalem every ten years approx, which may be the reason he's against filming it even tho I'd dieeeeeee for a nice film of it. (He recently finished up a play Dr Semmelweis from the director of.... War Horse, stephen lol)

Getting raves again although some of the pre-Woke dialog is cringey to apparently dumbass critics - I'm not even a huge fan of the play but it's an overwhelming work and a lot of this review seems nitpicky.........but the performance again is securing its place in theater history no doubt.

Certainly the best performance I saw in this century on stage (and my #2 ever behind Fiennes Hamlet)........if you can see it........then......you really should see it.

Some rumors around NYC that this may come to the US again @ BAM ......but that may be wishful thinking......

But any disagreement around the treatment of its themes cannot take away from its drama and the soaring central performance. Is it the greatest play of our times? Not in my view. But Rylance’s Rooster is surely the greatest performance of the century.
