Has anyone caught this young actress absolutely killing it on this show? I have some problems with the series itself, but my god, Zendaya is not one of them. And there is one episode where she is shockingly good and it is Episode 5 of Season 2. She is downright terrifying in her intervention scene - and the entire episode the way she constantly pivots through every demanding, spiraling moment takes phenomenal talent. Was not expecting that bumrush of an episode/performance so I felt the need to post about it.

Yeah, she's great and deserved her Emmy. Jacob Elordi is awesome too.

Yeah, she's great and deserved her Emmy. Jacob Elordi is awesome too. Agreed. He's great. She won for season 1. Season 2 she takes it to a MUCH higher level. That fifth episode alone is a no-brainer to be submitted. The actress who plays Cassie, Sydney Sweeney, is fantastic on season 2 as well.

HATED season 1. LOVED season 2. I don't think I've ever seen such a dramatic jump in quality on any show. Not the biggest fan of Zendaya but found her much better on season 2. The long break between seasons really helped all the actors improve drastically and cinematography (which moved from digital to film) became amazing too. MVPs are Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi.

Everytime I see that girl's face on TV, I'm like.... "need to remind myself to search MrSkin"

Second season is the best thing I've seen all year, the tv screen is not a limitation for Levinson, is unrealistic, kind of profane and funny and also sad and for the most part beautifully written, and despite the nudity is boldly unsexy, love it.... Elordi is the mvp for me but love Zendaya as well, she holds everything together, the episodes detailing her downward spiral are pitch perfect, plus her narration I found particuarly compelling, an untrusty perspective, sort of absent and monotonous but kind of addictive.

Her performance was definitely great about that series.

I also prefer to watch Zendaya on that show to anyone because the "you fucked my boyfriend!" dramatics are my least favorite part of the series. I look at that and think, "I'm too old for this shit." These are kids to me. But I love when the show veers into all of that drug, crime world stuff now. That female villain they introduced who talks in a monotone, "You know, Rue. I don't think I've ever been angry in my entire life" is extremely creepy. They better use her right next season.

Season 2 was an absolute dumpster fire compared to S1, and I wasn't even that huge on the latter (thought it was good but hardly great). NGL, I never got Zendaya before this show and even after proving herself on it I still scratch my head over how much of an It Girl she's become. To me she's just...forced and gawky a lot of the time. (And don't get me started on her and Tom "Spider-Stump" Holland).
All that being said, her performance in Episode 5 of S2 was pretty colossal. That episode overall was the lone bright spot in a cascade of masturbatory, navel-gazey dreck that Sam Levinson put together. Not at all surprised to hear reports of what a toxic work environment the production is.

The cinematography, soundtrack, and performances were still aces in season 2, but yeah, the script just went off into the deep end and I loved the first season. Still only halfway through the second so far tho.
I know this shouldn’t impact my opinion on the series, but the tik tok euphoria fans are so fucking annoying too with their romanticization of these toxic characters and relationships.

She has the same monotone voice in everything I've seen her in, but it's used very effectively here. She's so great on Baskets, btw. Zendaya kills it on this show. Also, how about the budget of that HS production?

Haven't seen the second season yet, but I liked the first. The Pilot really impressed me, it was impossible not to continue seeing the show after that. The cast is great, with no exception. Also, the two episodes of Euphoria Special had some really great writing.

Well, she makes for a good, deceptive villain with that voice and clear manipulation tactics to try to traffic the Zendaya character while pretending to comfort her when she's going through withdrawal. Creepy.

Wait are y’all serious about Zendaya? [none]
I’m surprised for the praise on here of all places because she’s literally just above being a competent actress at best. That’s it
The hype around her on the internet is absolutely insane though. I feel like it’s due to her surpassing people’s low expectations because she was a major Disney kid. And also because the internet and social media LOVES her for her red carpet fashion. Her stans are absolutely rabid and insufferable (like Bieber fans) and they think she deserves “all the Emmys and hell even Oscars and Grammys too” because she’s an “unproblematic queen who slays the red carpet”
Her performance in both seasons is not Emmy worthy. Her winning over someone as masterful as Jodie Comer in Killing Eve was a travesty. Yes I’m still salty about Comer losing to Zendaya’s mediocre ass bc Comer is THAT good and an extraordinary talent
The show itself is awful (though entertaining). It’s all style and very little substance. It’s pretty to look at and has a great soundtrack but being on HBO gives it a deceptive “prestige” feel even though it’s a CW show minus nudity
Zendaya is probably going to win the Emmy again because the show is a social media sensation, her thirsty ass will aggressively campaign for it, and the increasing emphasis on diversity and representation gives her an advantage (sorry but it’s true in her case). I find it interesting that the year she won, she wasn’t even nominated for a SAG

‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Shoot Delayed; HBO Says It’s ‘Committed to Making’ New Episodes Amid Report Season Was Scrapped “Euphoria” Season 3 has been delayed at HBO. “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.” The scripts for Season 3 are still being written. The news comes after a report that the show’s third season has been scrapped entirely. Production on the show’s third season had long been delayed, in part due to the Hollywood strikes and the July 2023 death of Angus Cloud, who played local drug dealer Fez. The show has also launched most of its cast — including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer — into the upper echelon of Hollywood, making it harder to coordinate production schedules. variety.com/2024/tv/news/euphoria-season-3-delayed-hbo-1235950931/
