Evan Rachel Wood - IMO a genius level talent. Has she even been a mainstream film since The Ides of March? It's crazy! I'm glad she's getting a paycheck and some awards love from Westworld, but she should be much bigger than Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Stone. Sarah Gadon - Get the fuck out of Canada sometimes, lady! Sheesh. Nicole Beharie -

Morfydd Clark gave my best female performance of 2020 - in my favorite movie of that year - but it's really 2019 technically ( Saint Maud) and has been doing TV .......come on. You saw THAT performance and didn't want to cast her in a movie? Azura Skye - gave my 2nd best female performance of 2020 - but it's really 2018 technically ( The Swerve) and has been doing TV - Riverdale and Charmed.......come on.......again. Fncking patriarchy .........

Marisa Tomei Christine Lahti Juliette Lewis (we thank Yellowjackets, and now how about some movies) Parker Posey (still unsure her role size in the Ari Aster and HBO's The Staircase) Nina Arianda (give her and Cecily Strong a big-screen buddy comedy and prepare to keel)

Since we have a poll on her - Holly Hunter has done nothing but voice work in film and TV in the last 5 years. .......and she was aces in film before she got cut weirdly off - Manglehorn, The Big Sick. This is an Oscar winner who has at least a couple all-timer performances - has never done anything "bad"......... and she's on a TV series with Ted Danson? She's a scene stealer in everything she does - literally everything - put her in a movie.........grrrrrrrrr

She would've rocked it and won a deserved second Oscar.

Speaking of Canada...Sandra Oh obviously comes to mind. I think she's as capable as an actress as the best of the best in her age's range, just give her a role, not even the "right" role, just a little bit of something and she will brings all the magic. Keri Russell is another fantastic actress who is underused (on film).

Emmy Rossum is at least as good an actress as most the really big stars in her age range (Portman, Johansson, Knightley, Hathaway) and of course quite beautiful but for whatever reason she's never really landed the big parts in movies they have. Really the one big A-list lead role she got was Phantom of the Opera and other than that it's been supporting roles, leads in second tier projects, and TV.

Sarah Gadon Judy Davis Sigourney Weaver Lily Rabe Martha Plimpton Great mentions! I’m always beguilingly drawn to Gadon when she’s on screen. Sig - she had her best part in about twenty years on Call My Agent, a French show! Rabe is talented (I’ve seen her on stage) but yeah gets relegated in bigger projects - she should’ve starred in The Undoing. Mass proved Plimpton has been a talent in waiting - give her a Tammy Faye or Mare of Easttown type part. Judy I’ve posted about more than any actress? Bc she’s GOAT-vying and deserves the world, not helper-roles in Ryan Murphy taffy.

I mean... How much time do you have? Every English language actress over 50 who isn't named Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, or Helen Mirren.

Emily Watson. She hasn't exactly disappeared or anything, but she should be doing bigger and better things than she's doing.

Emily Watson. She hasn't exactly disappeared or anything, but she should be doing bigger and better things than she's doing. She chooses not to, though. Here she says she wouldn't do any overseas project that would take more than 2 weeks to film, that's why she practically only does films and tv shows filmed in London, where she lives.
