Natalie Portman for Black Swan seems a pretty big omission since it's one of the biggest awards sweeps ever.

Judy Garland in A Star is Born definitely belongs on any sort of "canon".

I like Philadelphia Story but there are a number of other things I'd go with for K. Hepburn, particularly Lion in Winter or Summertime.

I'd go Batman Returns for Pfeiffer but I might be in the minority on that one.

Not exactly... Portman has Israeli citizenship and her first language was Hebrew.

So clearly she is as American, as Nicole Kidman is Australian.-

Not in fact both sisters had taken the US Citezenship, before US enter in the WW2, for not being considarated enemies.
