I can't decide which one of the masterpieces is the best film of 2002. Help me. Which one should I choose for best picture in my year end list? I have decided to go Todd Haynes with the director but picture I'm on the fence. What do you guys think about these films, maybe that would help to make up my mind. Thanks.

Both are great by Far From Heaven. Spectacular direction and performances.

I vastly prefer Road to Perdition, though Far From Heaven could use a rewatch as it has been well over a decade since I saw it last. I adore Perdition's story, direction, ensemble and iconic cinematography.

Both incredibly well-made films and both are in my Top 10 of best films of 2002 but I'd give the edge to FAR FROM HEAVEN.

Far from Heaven for me. Road to Perdition's father-son melodrama didn't connect with me nearly as much, and it wasn't as pretty to look at.

Road To Perdition. Far From Heaven is a good but a bit melodramatic for my tastes, even if that was entirely the point.

Hmm, that's pretty close for me. I'd probably go with Far from Heaven, but only just.

Road to Perdition, which is my #6 of 2002. But Far from Heaven is my #7 of that year.

Strange comparison but Road to Perdition always been so under appreciated. Especially when it came out.

Totally different movies who only have the same release year. But: Road to Perdition in every aspect for me. It works emotionally though it has quite a cold tone. It's direction is fantastic and features some great performances, especially by Paul Newman. One of the best movies of all time and definitely one of the most beautiful shot. That rain scene is really breathtaking.
