Surprise: The Worst Person in the World in Original Screenplay! Even if Reinsve didn’t get to ride it’s coattails, I was so happy it was here.
Disappointment: West Side Story in Film Editing. That one hurt.

Ruth Negga should be winning not missing. Villeneuve was also robbed.
I'm happy for Drive My Car's nominations and Worst Person in the World cracking in original screenplay.

Best Surprise: definitely The Worst Person in the World in Original Screenplay. Didn't see that one coming at all and was just uber-happy for it.
Biggest Disappointment: yeah, West Side Story missing Editing. A shame, especially in terms of how amazing the achievement itself was. And they robbed Kahn of a record. But WSS did well overall so I can't complain too much. My runner-up would be The French Dispatch missing Production Design.

Pleasant Surprise: Worst Person in the World for screenplay. I was screaming on my couch! Biggest Disappointment: The one-two punch of Balfe and Negga missing. Will Balfe ever get her due from the industry? Five great seasons of Outlander and not a single Emmy nomination. And now she misses an Oscar nod for what should've been an easy nomination. Pleasant Surprise: Buckley in Supporting, and Gaga in Actress and Cooper in Supporting being snubbed
Disappointing Snub: LDC in Actor, Villeneuve in Directing, Balfe in Supporting and Dench at her place.
