Let's talk our dreams into happening! - Steven Spielberg gets a Best Director nomination - Alana Haim gets a Best Actress nomination - At 91 years old the legendary Michael Kahn gets his 9th nomination for Best Editing for West Side Story and becomes the most nominated editor in history What are your wishes, folks?

Here are my top 3:
Emilia Jones gets nominated for Best Actress.
Alana Haim gets nominated for Best Actress.
Pamela Martin gets a Best Film Editing nomination for her superior work in King Richard.
Those would be awesome. CODA, King Richard, and Licorice Pizza getting at least 6 Oscar nominations would be extremely satisfying.

I'm not gonna get unreasonable, so my top three wishes for the genuine maybes: Haim, Faist, Hamaguchi gets in over Branagh rather than Spielberg.
(Some others: Licorice Pizza's cinematography; The Last Duel in Adapted Screenplay; and Leto of course, but that performance is almost better if it doesn't get nominated, you know?)

Is Zack Snyder’s Justice League even eligible? I seriously doubt they’d go for it.

- At 91 years old the legendary Michael Kahn gets his 9th nomination for Best Editing for West Side Story and becomes the most nominated editor in history I know you named Kahn in the Greatest Editor Ever thread - and deservedly! I had no idea he was 91. Only three living editors have more than 5 noms : Walter Murch (6), Thelma (8), and Kahn. I really love some of the movies he did pre Spielberg.... two that rise above the "Blaxploitation" genre: Trouble Man (1972) and Truck Turner (1974). He also did Rage in '72 with George C Scott that has some deliciously edited moments. I haven't seen WSS yet but I'm hoping for that nom too.

PTA in Director House of Gucci for BP Haim for Best Actress Thought of Cooper Hoffman for Actor but tried to keep it to things that were realistic. If I had five wishes I'd wish for Leto in House of Gucci to be take all five supporting actor slots for the same performance.

I haven’t seen a single 2021 release but I’ll do a prayer circle for House of Gucci since off the top of my head that’s the one that seems like the best one out of the contenders imo. That or Power of the Dog. So with that said I’ll just leave this tweet here in lieu of my 3 wishes

I think my biggest fist pumps would be Mike Faist, Kathryn Hunter, and "So May We Start"
I'd also be excited about double Greenwood
Fingers crossed against a Spielberg snub and a total Last Duel shutout...Adapted Screenplay would be great but I'd be happy it got anything at this point.

Only three?!
HAIM! No Chastain I guess I'll say Leto for the third.
(I also really want Asghar Farhadi and Aleem Khan to get screenplay nominations)

I don't want to jinx anybody but I would be beyond happy if one actress in particular didn't make it. All eyes will be on the nominees tomorrow that is for sure.

1. Garfield Actor nom 2. Looking unlikely now, but still holding out for that Rylance shock, upset nom. (I think there's still a 50% chance for the sheer unpredictability of this season).
3. Too bad The Green Knight fell out of focus in the award season. So anything for that.
