Please, share your thoughts on one of Golden Hollywood's brightest stars. Did you enjoy him as an actor? Trivia: His favorite leading ladies? Ingrid Bergman, Ava Gardner, Audrey Hepburn.

I may prefer his co-stars on most occasions (that's just the quality these people were working at) but he's a solid leading man and immensely likable. Loved him in Roman Holiday and Mockingbird; and he's fairly engaging in Twelve O’Clock High and The Omen too.

Mom's favourite actor. She liked The man in the grey flannel suit.

My first Hollywood crush as a young child, right alongside Audrey, thanks to frequent Roman Holiday watches as it was my parents' favorite movie and we put on whenever it was on TV Fell in love all over again when finally watched Mockingbird as a teenager. I cannot put into words what I feel when I'm immersed in his Atticus. Was such a huge fan for the longest time, I joined an online fan club for him during my university years, even sitting in my native country! When he died (in 2003), the fan club was putting together a memorial book to honor him and send to his representatives, so I spent days drawing a detailed life-like sketch of him, then had it professionally scanned to email to the fanclub. Too bad I lost touch with the club later or even my copy of the drawing It was his IMDb profile picture btw which I sketched off of

I enjoy him as an actor, he had this calming affect. You know like okay, I feel like I'm in the right hands if I pop in this movie.
I was never smitten by him though. I had crushes on Monty and Paul Newman. Of course for a brief period there I did have this strange attraction to William Holden.

You have to see The Great Sinner, adapted from Dostoyevsky's The Gambler. Peck and Gardner are both impossibly gorgeous in it, and their chemistry is just insane...

Did you guys know that Oliver Peoples makes the style of glasses he wore in To Kill a Mockingbird? I virtually tried them on today!

I do think he was a bit more limited an actor in terms of his range than what his reputation would indicate, but he could largely make up for that by just the sheer force of his gravitas. Obviously his Oscar win is unimpeachably good (even if I would personally pick O'Toole, Lancaster and Lemmon over him out of that stellar lineup), and I think he was very much the Ur-example of an actor who got better as he aged. There is a stiffness to his younger performances that make him feel awkward and out of place, but that's largely gone by the '60s and when he showed up in things in his winter years, you knew he was gonna be good.
