to think just a couple months ago we were pegging this as an actual contender. BP, BD, actress, screenplay, and a handful of techs were on the table and now we might be staring down the barrel of a complete and total snubbing. What a shame to answer my own question, I still think Stewart gets in but I'm not 100% confident. The writing's on the wall for it to be snubbed everywhere else. Jacqueline Durran deserves better.

At this rate, it's sure looking like it. I thought for sure Greenwood would get double-nodded, but that doesn't seem to be happening (and it sucks, because I think Spencer is his better score of the two), and the fact that they blanked Durran at the guilds is definitely telling (though I heard that apparently a lot of those costumes were borrowed as is, so who knows?). Stewart's only hope is that the furor that erupted after the SAG snub swung a few sympathetic voters, but the problem is that the year is packed and other fringe contenders are surging. I'm expecting Haim or Reinsve to funnel those passion votes at this stage.
If Oscar voting were still going another week or two, I would be dismissing Stewart entirely. But everything's so in flux right now without enough time to let the dust settle from BAFTA before Oscar nods are dropped on Tuesday, that I still think it's conceivable (but steadily more unlikely with every passing day) that she sneaks in. But I think she's the sole nominee, if that.

I know her quote was taken out of context, but I really believe Kristen saying she didn't give a shit about winning an Oscar has hurt her.She was not popular to begin with,so she needed the goodwill of her peers to get a nomination. After the Bafta snub,I don't think she'll get in.

We were right, Tyler! She was too good to ignore! From Spencer's IMDb Trivia Page: Princess Diana's former bodyguard Ken Wharfe on Stewart's performance: "Out of all the people who have played Diana over the past 10 years, she's the closest to her. She managed to perfect her mannerisms."The real-life Chef Darren McGrady actually went to go and watch the film. He said Kristen Stewart's performance was "incredible" and that her accent was "spot-on."Timothy Spall on Kristen Stewart's performance: "This is sophisticated character acting at its most seamless. As she revealed herself, I thought, this is a moment where people are going to say, 'Oh my God, I knew she was good, but I didn't know she was that good.'"JangoB

What a day!
