Pretty important nomination. There's only been two films in the last 42 years to win Best Picture without an editing nomination -- Birdman and Ordinary People.
Belfast, Dune, and Licorice Pizza were nominated for the ACE, Critics Choice, and BAFTA.
No Time to Die scored both the ACE (Drama) and the BAFTA.
The Power of the Dog was nominated for Critics Choice and the ACE (Drama).
King Richard, Cruella, Don't Look Up, The French Dispatch, and Tick, Tick...Boom! received just the ACE nomination. However, King Richard's nomination was in a more competitive category -- Drama. It beat out CODA, Nightmare Alley, West Side Story, Being the Ricardos, and Drive My Car.
West Side Story only got nominated for Critics Choice.
Looking over their history, the Editors tends to stay pretty faithful to the ACE nominations. We have seen Spotlight and The Father getting an Editing nomination, despite no ACE nomination. They also tend to favor films which got a PGA nomination.
Who do you got in your top 5?

We know this category often goes for "Most editing" or Worst, so a lineup of Ricardos, Belfast, Don't Look Up, Tick Tick Boom, Dune - wouldn't surprise me.... but I'll go.....
