I legit have a hard time predicting who will win this. This is a UK public vote thing. I feel like the British public barely know or give a shit about any of these actors.
I dunno...Lashana Lynch maybe as she's British and obviously No Time To Die is a massive film. But she just kind of feels like a cog in the machine in that movie. And shouldn't she have gotten this type of recognition with Captain Marvel, her actual breakthrough role?

I don't think these are that obscure. At least compared to last year But yeah, trying to predict the winner is a futile task here.

I think last year was actually better for a UK public vote thing, as most of the nominees were actually British, so there is a rooting interest for voters even if none of them are super famous. I correctly predicted Bukky Bakaray would win, because Rocks was a big deal independent British film in the UK. And the other nominees were people like Kingsley Ben-Adir, Morfydd Clarke, Sophie Dirisu. Not really well known actors, but still Brits either making an impact locally or internationally.

Yeah, Lynch is definitely winning this.
They’re all deserved, but I wouldn’t really classify Dickinson, Simmons or Smit-McPhee (especially) as breakouts of 2021. Dickinson had Beach Rats, Simmons had the first A Quiet Place and Smit-McPhee had The Road/Let Me In.

I want Harris Dickinson to win and hopefully he does.

Nice picks.Neither Lashana Lynch nor Harris Dickinson are that well known in the UK, so maybe DeBose, being an Oscar nominee, will sneak it?.It will probably be Lashana though, hometown advantage.
