Big blow for House of Gucci, and a nice boost for Being the Ricardos.

Yeah, this solidifies Kidman's chances in Actress, and unfortunately it makes Sorkin's and Bardem's nomination much more likely.
They didn't care about box office either, not just with House of Gucci but with Spider-Man too.
tick, tick... BOOM! making it here is interesting though, there's perhaps a chance for Garfield to spoil in Actor (please voters, don't default to ordinary movie star turns for your awards).

It's like a nightmare for me to see HoG miss and Being the Ricardos making it ......... TToM is another big miss here - for Joel Coen who they usually adore - pretty huge for Garfield who if he can snag SAG could really be a thing here - I've said it before only 4 living guys have a Best Actor Tony and an Oscar ........and that's what he's trying to pull off at 38 - this is the Best Actor contending performance that people genuinely love - the passion is all with him ............and it's growing

NIGHTMARE ALLEY missing over the #1 worst movie of the year (DON'T LOOK UP), and 2 mediocre clichéd tripe biopics like RICARDOS and RICHARD makes me want to puke fucking blood!! And a DRIVE MY CAR inclusion would have been inspired as well. I've seen all of these save CODA and WSS, and I only liked 4 of the 8 (and loved only 2). So a truly pitiful, embarrassingly safe/predictable list. 👎👎

Bummer for Nightmare Alley and House of Gucci Yeah those are rough for them. Usually when something misses here and still gets in it’s usually something small and critically acclaimed (Room, Winter’s Bone, Amour, The Father) so I don’t think Macbeth, The Lost Daughter and Drive My Car are dead yet for that last spot but this is really bad for HoG and Nightmare.

Its Director even made the BAFTA long list, while the Director for Tick, Tick...boom was snubbed.

I'd agree Smith is in the number 1 slot ..........I don't think BAFTA director affects Garfield much tbh - his whole campaign is built around his momentum if he steals SAG ........then Smith is vulnerable............but as if now........it's still Smith who is the favorite to win SAG anyway ......

How often does PGA match perfectly with the Oscar's? 2020 - The Father didn't get a PGA nomination 2019 - All were nominated at PGA. 2018 - All were nominated at PGA. 2017 - Phantom Thread and Darkest Hour didn't make cut. 2016 - All were nominated at PGA. 2015 - Room didn't make the cut. 2014 - Selma didn't make the cut. 2013 - Philomenia didn't make the cut. 2012 - Amour didn't make the cut. 2011 - Extremely Loud and Tree of Life didn't make the cut. 2010 - Winter's Bone didn't make the cut. 2009 - Blind Side and A Serious Man didn't make the cut.
2008 - 4/5. The Reader 2007 - 4/5. Atonement 2006 - 4/5. The Queen 2005 - 4/5. Munich 2004 - 4/5. Ray 2003 - 4/5. No Lost in Translation. They had 6 PGA nominations. Cold Mountain and The Last Samurai didn't get in. 2002 - 3/5. No The Hours and Pianist. They had 6 nominees. Adaptation, Greek Wedding, and Road to Perdition didn't make the cut. 2001 - 3/5. No In the Bedroom and Gosford Park.
2000 - 3/5. No Chocolat and Traffic.
Typically we have one PGA nominee not getting in. I think the most vulnerable for a Best Picture miss this year are Don't Look Up, CODA (Sorry to say), Tick Tick BOOM!, and Being the Ricardos.

Big blow for House of Gucci, and a nice boost for Being the Ricardos. No ACE, WGA, PGA, or DGA. I didn't expect HOG to get nominated for any of those. I didn't really see why people are so surprised that HOG and Spider-Man didn't get in. I correctly predicted the PGA and DGA nominees here.
