Based on what I have been hearing, Belfast, Drive My Car, A Hero, The Power of the Dog, The Lost Daughter, Parallel Mothers, Passing, and Cyrano are ineligible for the WGA awards. The Harder They Fall is seen as adapted, not original.
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
The Critics Choice nominated CODA, Dune and West Side Story for both best picture and best adapted screenplay. NBR honored The Tragedy of Macbeth as their best adapted screenplay of the year award. The Eyes of Tammy Faye, House of Gucci, Nightmare Alley, The Tender Bar, and tick tick....BOOM! scored SAG nominations. The Last Duel made NBR's top ten list and the BAFTA long list.
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
The Critics Choice nominated Being the Ricardos, Don't Look Up, King Richard, and Licorice Pizza for best original screenplay. Red Rocket made NBR's top ten list. The Card Counter, C'mon C'mon, The French Dispatch, and Last Night in Soho made BAFTA's long list. Spencer and Respect appear to be eligible for the WGA too. Both films getting award season buzz.
