My last of the Best Picture reviews before the major Guilds change the dynamic of the race. CODA is 8th on my best picture power rankings. Believe it or not, the movie is a remake of a French film and was one of five films to get nominated for Best Drama at the Globes.
BEST PICTURE - Globe, Critics Choice nominee. AFI Top Ten honors BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (Troy Kotsur) - Globe, Critics Choice nominee BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY - Critics Choice
That's 3 categories. The Satellite awards nominated Marlee Matlin for Supporting Actress and the song "Beyond the Shore". Emilia Jones won the Utah Film Critics Best Actress award.
Is Kotsur the film's best chance at winning an Oscar?

Picture, Supporting Actor, Adapted Screenplay are practically locks. Fingers crossed for Beyond the Shore.

Picture, Supporting Actor, Adapted Screenplay are practically locks. Fingers crossed for Beyond the Shore. I am predicting Picture, BSA, BAS, but I am hoping it gets Actress and Song nominations.
