I was finally able to find Face of a Stranger from 1991, featuring a stunning Emmy-winning performance by Gena Rowlands (I've now seen all 4 of her Emmy wins and all of her Emmy nominations! )... Tyne Daly, Cynthia Nixon, and Seymour Cassel co-star. Mattsby PromNightCarrieAnd you? What was the last made-for-television film you watched?

It's funny you tagged me there, Tyler, because I happen to really love Tyne Daly too. I've always thought she was such a great actress.

It took me a little while to get used to the tempo of Daly's performance (she's playing a woman who is mentally ill and suffers from PTSD), but yes, she is very effective and vivid here. I will send you a PM with the link to the movie so you can watch at your leisure!

How's this for a trio of actresses - Holly Hunter, Frances McDormand, and Gena Rowlands, with a Golden Globe nomination for Rowlands. Crazy in Love (1992)

Losing Chase (1996) - directed by Kevin Bacon and starring Helen Mirren, Kyra Sedgwick, and Beau Bridges. This was Mirren's first-ever Golden Globe nomination, and she won. I really didn't care for this; in fact, I found it bizarre, frankly. Lovely Cape Cod setting, though.
