We've got our 15 finalists but which five do you think will make it into the lineup?

I'm thinking: 1. 'No Time to Die' - duh 2. 'Dos Oruguitas' - definitely 3. 'Just Look Up' - it's a ballad which reveals itself to have both comedy and a message. It's in 4. 'Down to Joy' - I don't remember a note of it but Belfast will probably clean up nominations-wise so... 5. 'Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)' - I'm feeling this one here although to me personally it's insanely boring. But they kinda like that stuff, don't they? Plus it's a chance to give Jennifer Hudson a nomination for Respect without BA Obviously the big snub I'm predicting is 'Be Alive'. But there're a lot of configurations I can imagine happening. CODA, Annette, The Harder They Fall, Sing 2 - I can see all of those here. Also worth remembering is that 'Somehow You Do' is written by Diane Warren

Pretty confident about the No Time to Die, Encanto, Don’t Look Up and King Richard songs making it. No idea about that 5th slot, but Dan does raise a good point about Diane Warren.

"Be Alive" "Dos Oruguitas" "Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)" "Just Look Up" "No Time to Die"
"Beyond the Shore" is the only upset I want. Whole shortlist is pretty lame. Van Morrison's antivax baggage will probably sink "Down to Joy"

"So may we start" is the only great song from this bunch, which means it's never getting a nomination.

I guess it would have given them a slightly better chance, but in the end, I think they still lose to Billie no matter what. Would have been fun to see it performed at the Oscars though.

I don't think it would've beat Eilish but it being so popular definitely overshadows & hurts "Dos Oroguitas", which is a shame because it's the kind of song that feels like it should be a shoo-in for a win as the big emotional backstory moment that's really touching (similar to the Coco song). But without having that context the song doesn't really stand out. And "Bruno" having so much virality just compounds that. But virality is hard to predict. It's a catchy song but so are most of the songs off Encanto.didn't they make a rule a couple years ago that only one song can be nominated per movie? If that's true then that's what hurt Encanto the most

It's a catchy song but so are most of the songs off Encanto.didn't they make a rule a couple years ago that only one song can be nominated per movie? If that's true then that's what hurt Encanto the most After the one-two punch of Dreamgirls and Enchanted scoring three nods, they did make a rule that only two songs per movie could be nominated. But Disney decided to streamline even that to avoid vote-splitting, and since Tangled have chosen only to submit one song per movie, and put all their fire behind that (“I See The Light,” “Let it Go,” “How Far I’ll Go,” etc.). And for Encanto, “Dos Oruguitas” was obviously their big push.

I feel like the Encanto song is going to win. People will see it as rewarding that bruno song I think. Final prediction.
