Our last of the SAG predictions. Jessica Chastain, Olivia Colman, Lady Gaga, Alana Haim, Nicole Kidman, and Kristen Stewart received both Globe and Critics Choice nominations. Marion Cotillard, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, and Rachel Zegler scored Globe nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical. Penelope Cruz for Parallel Mothers won the LA Film Critics Best Actress trophy. The other strong contenders are Emilia Jones for CODA and Frances McDormand for The Tragedy of Macbeth.

Chastain, Colman, Gaga, Kidman, Stewart. Despite the immensity of the category this year, I feel this is a rock-solid five for SAG. I went with the same 5 here; although I think Kidman and maybe Chastain drop out at the Oscars. I could also see Mattsby’s prediction of Bullock popping up (and Viola Davis in Supporting), and maybe Hudson could surprise here too, but probably just Chastain, Colman, Gaga, Kidman, and Stewart. |
