Lets talk SAG Best Supporting Actor. Both the Globes and Critics Choice nominated Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds, Troy Kotsur, and Kodi Smit-McPhee for best supporting actor. The Globes nominated Ben Affleck for The Tender Bar. Critics Choice nominated JK Simmons for Being the Ricardos and Jared Leto for House of Gucci. Vincent Lindon for Titane won the LA film critics Best Supporting Actor trophy. Other strong contenders here are Bradley Cooper for Licorice Pizza, Mike Faist for West Side Story, and Jesse Plemons for The Power of the Dog.
Keep in mind, if you're going to predict "other", you have to name that person, otherwise, it doesn't count.
My predictions are Dornan, Hinds, Kotsur, Smit-McPhee, and Leto.

Wow what an abysmal category when it’s all laid out like this.
I guess I’ll go

And for the last spot I guess Leto. Although for the Oscars I think he and Dornan are the most vulnerable. However, now that I’m looking at all the possible contenders, Dornan will probably be safe with Cooper taking our Leto, but after that unless Plemons coattails which is possible, I can’t imagine any of these other contenders to take him out.
I think Faist needed the critics because of his age and newcomer status, but DeBose and then Moreno and Zegler are getting most of the award attention. I think Being the Ricardos will barely be able to get Kidman in, even if it does well at SAG. Affleck and Lindon feel like they have zero chance.

Instinctively: Hinds, Kostur, Leto, Rylance, Smit-McPhee. Yeah I could see SAG really going for Don’t Look Up. Lawrence might even get in, only at SAG though, since I think it came out at a great time for awards season. |
