The Aussies show Denzel more love than the Brits do. This is his 3rd nomination by AACTA which is pretty cool. Looks like for Best Actor Smith, Cumberbatch, Washington, and Garfield are the solid four. Interesting that they went with Pacino here instead of Leto for Supporting Actor.

While there may be some slight hometown bias in nodding it for Best Picture (because of it's leading lady), the fact that Being The Ricardos got in for Best Picture may be an indicator that when it comes down to the industry awards, Nicole Kidman may indeed end up being the frontrunner for Best Actress. It looks like she may have the film that gets the most industry support, which always helps. Outside of Stewart herself, Spencer doesn't seem to be showing much strength as a film in terms of recognition.
The Best Actor Top 4 looks pretty locked and loaded. The only mystery appears to be who will be the 5th nominee.

It also has to be said, it's kind of ridiculous how Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett carry the Australian Film And Television Industry almost every single year when it comes to being in contention for major acting accolades.
Though Blanchett's nod for Don't Look Up probably isn't warranted as she isn't really in serious contention for it (Nightmare Alley would have made more sense, but maybe it didn't qualify in time for voting), it's still impressive that either her or Kidman are usually in legit contention for something every season.

AACTA are not exactly serious and reliable precursors and predictors of what the race will be.
