This would also be my lineup.
Although since the lone director thing would often happen, I guess I would take something out for King Richard, I don’t know maybe Don’t Look Up, but McKay would make it into Director.

on second thought West Side Story probably is ahead of King Richard at this point. KR seems like the kind of safe crowdpleasing baity biopics that can comfortably sneak in but I was predicting that without expecting WSS to be as strong as its shaping up to be. A couple days ago I think I had WSS just outside the top 10 but it's looking to be a major threat. Feedback has been glowing.
Dune has to be in the top 5 I think. If we're assuming Villeneuve is in top 3 for director, and I think he is. At least top 4.

Right now Dune is the only event movie among the contenders and that really helps it right now but if WSS can be the same I think it would have an advantage over Dune since it’s more critically acclaimed and is in line for Acting nods. |
