She shocked the world of European cinema when she chose to end her acting career after her marriage to Jean Sorel, and since the early 60s, she has largely remained out of the spotlight. Nevertheless, she has always maintained a passionately devoted (if small) fanbase. It's my understanding that unfortunately she suffers from Alzheimer's disease and now lives in an assisted living facility... It's heartbreaking when you think about the enormous potential she showed in her years in front of the camera. Could she have been a Loren? A Lollobrigida? A Cardinale? Chi sa…? Chi sa… ?
