Hopefully, this gets a proper release. Is there any doubt? It's DiCaprio. By proper, I'm saying please give me more than two weeks to go to the theatre.

The way an absolutely fun and wild movie like Babylon inexplicably flopped at the box office with today's audiences makes me deeply nervous about the commercial prospect of this "heavy" film.

Scorsese hasn’t had a film released since the pandemic, it’s hard to say.

It's coming in limited theaters on Oct. 6. The film will then have a wide release on Oct. 20.

Leo's still the biggest star in Hollywood (or at least 1a and 1b with Cruise) until proven otherwise, Pitt's not on that level in regards to the Babylon example. Glad this is getting a real release.

If that's true, Leo could sweep in Supporting.

But I kind of don't buy it, as it goes against everything we've been told about the project over the last couple of years.

Yeah based on the book I don't see how Hale could be a "lead" character nor how that could even be an interesting choice in adaptation...

Are they taking liberties with the English language, or is this over 3 hours 30 minutes? We'd heard a cut was 3h20, but that's not "nearly 4 hours" unless you play fast and loose with language.

Yes but Burkhart makes for a naturally compelling lead character in a dramatization of the book, which Hale doesn't. Would love to be proven wrong though should that rumor be valid.
