No surprise there. I can definitely see all 4 getting nominated, with Balfe and Dornan winning.

Was always the smart play.
Also, it's 'Dornan'.

Glad they pulled their heads out of their asses on this. Supporting Actor's free and clear enough that Dornan might be able to pull Hinds along. Supporting Actress feels more packed this year but I can't rule out double nods either.
If we're going on the assumption Belfast is taking Screenplay as well, it could Green Book its way to a win with a supporting prize. Dornan's got less competition but I feel like Balfe is more what they tend to respond to, historically speaking.

Dornan's got less competition but I feel like Balfe is more what they tend to respond to, historically speaking. I don’t honestly think either supporting category is that strong. Supporting Actress has more solid contenders right now from where I'm sitting. Balfe, Dunst, Negga, Ellis, Streep, Dench, Dowd, Plimpton, the Nightmare Alley ladies, the Lost Daughter duo, McDormand if she decides to go supporting, Hunter if she doesn't . . . Plus there's always the category frauds we see populate this category time and again. I don't think anyone is locked-and-loaded as a winner right now, but there are several who have winner-level raves, and it's just about who can sustain that buzz the best. Supporting Actor, though, is the big question mark this season. Genuinely don't feel like anyone strikes me as a signed-and-sealed winner right now, and that only helps someone like Jamie Dornan, who has a potential Best Picture contender and would be a perfect above-the-line winner to help it on its way. What throws me off is that Dornan would be somewhat atypical in this category, whereas Balfe isn't.

I still don’t find hardly any of the women you listed as very strong besides Balfe , Dunst and maybe Dowd tbh but we will see.

Dowd isn't going anywhere. The fact that she's still #1 on Gold Derby is truly baffling.
