She probably would have gotten it for American Hustle as a "make up" award. She was hugely popular at the time. Not saying she would have deserved it for either but I can't see her being Oscar-less.

I think she would have won for AMERICAN HUSTLE. It was a pretty close race.

Stephen as always makes a lot of great points. At first I would have went with Lawrence winning easily since she had lost the year before, but it was clear that American Hustle had lost a lot of steam even losing Best Original Screenplay to Her even though Bale got in over Phoenix and Hanks. So I’m not sure that she would have won so easily.
Plus I know Lawrence was the “it” girl of the time, but I could see her age working against her too because I could see voters thinking she’d definitely win later on for sure,

Had she not won for Silver Linings Playbook, she certainly would've won for American Hustle. I actually think she was much closer to winning for it in general than many here realize, and would have if she had actually campaigned.

I do think she would have won for American Hustle in this situation.
Sad thing is, she should have won on her first nomination at a canter.
