Wright got the highest praises for The French Dispatch and as I predict at least one acting nom for this - it will most likely be him. Jennifer Hudson has Oscar written all over her for that character got a lot of praise and so I don’t think she will miss at this point Plemons role sounds very oscarish for me No opinion about Smith-McPhee yet I think - if at all - Nightmare Alley will be the women’s Show hence no Cooper prediction I don’t get Dont look up Oscar vibes yet

Haha. He's a good actor that should have at least scored a nod by now.

If you don't mind discussing I'd love to hear why you're predicting Wright, Hudson, Dowd, Isaacs, Plemons over Smith-McPhee, and no Cooper or DiCaprio. Anderson couldn't even get an actor nominated for his more acclaimed films, not sure why it would happen here. Hudson's film absolutely bombed at the box office and was way too early of a release. She won't be able to keep any kind of momentum, she has too much stronger competition. Pretty much every single review is saying that Smit-McPhee is the Supporting Actor MVP, not Plemons. Right from the get people who had read the book were saying that Smit-McPhee had the juicer role. Cooper has a super baity role and is an Academy favourite. Don't Look Up looks right in line with Vice and the Big Short, which the Academy absolutely ate up.
