Chill-inducing trailer... though much different in tone than the IMAX exclusive trailer, which is more dread-filled and tense and feels closer to the way Dunkirk was sold as a nail-biting thriller. The imagery in this trailer sort of evokes Interstellar, with some shots that even feel like they’re right out of Tree of Life (we know Nolan is a huge Malick fan). Between this and the IMAX trailer especially, it seems like a lot of the physics visuals are meant to represent what Oppenheimer is imagining in his head... so I can see what Nolan meant in the recent Total Film interview when talked about the film as a “subjective” telling of the story from Oppenheimer’s POV. I love Murphy’s narration, though something about it combined with the music makes it sound like Jor-El in a trailer for a Superman movie.

In theory (and it's all theory since no one has seen it) this should be the full realization of his work....for me....I've always said he was better early (his first 3) when he functioned in the real world - and while I like all his movies - there's been a big "kid playing with exploding things" - an "unfeeling" aspect (or a sappy aspect) I don't care for much....... Here - and in this trailer - you get the feel of his first 3 (man either lying to himself, or no longer able to) but rooted in subject matter that by its very nature unable to be "unfeeling" Pretty staggering trailer.....too soon for an Oppenheimer vs. Killers of the Flower Moon BP predictions thread?

....too soon for an Oppenheimer vs. Killers of the Flower Moon BP predictions thread? Too late because we all know the winner's gonna be Barbie. Or some butt plug movie.

I also love the shots in the beginning with the rain falling in the puddle and the rain on the window, which feel like they're capturing the natural beauty of the physics of the world... contrasted with the horror and destruction of the bomb.
Some of the shots also suggest that we might get a nightmarish vision of the world getting destroyed a la T2...

I wouldn't quite say it's confirmed yet since he retweeted this just before:

I thought 2 hours 49 mins was the physical IMAX 70mm platter limit, so if this is true, I wonder if they're testing bigger plates(?)

Look man, I've seen one really good movie this year - and it's not Air ffs - one - Palm Trees and Powerlines - It's April for the love of God........so go ahead - push everything back......I got albums to listen to anyway......pfffft Unconfirmed..... I guess so ......hopefully not www.showbiz411.com/2023/04/14/report-christopher-nolans-oscar-bound-oppenheimer-moving-from-july-release-to-this-fall Christopher Nolan’s mega important movie, “Oppenheimer,” was set for release on July 26th. The heavy betting was that it would premiere in Cannes next month.
But now Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux has told Variety that “Oppenheimer” couldn’t come to Cannes because it will be released in the fall as part of an Oscar campaign.Update: [Update 12:15 pm]: Variety has since clarified Fremeaux’s remarks with the following addendum: “Thierry Fremaux later clarified that Oppenheimer is still set for a July release.”

The IMAX trailer ending with "We all know what happened next" is such a big balls move. Probably a different context in the movie, but showing interspersed with the test blasts before cutting to the title of course makes everyone think of nuking Japan.

I always find these reviews really dumb. What else would a cast member say about their new movie? That it's a piece of trash and the actors in it can't act their ass out of a paperbag?
