I think a double nod really might happen, and like Reznor-Ross last year, or Desplat in 2014.... on to a win. For which? I haven't heard 'em but Spencer seems to be a bigger thing than we initially thought and his music a very important factor to the pic...?

To be fair this 'news' comes from an Anne Thompson Indiewire article where she just mentions it at the end. There's been no official confirmation if Greenwood's doing the PTA score. It would be reasonable to assume that he's the composer since they've got a firm collaboration but we don't know for sure just yet. I wouldn't be surprised if the movie is more song-filled a-la Boogie Nights or something.
But Greenwood is definitely in a good position to get another nomination. The question is indeed for which movie (maybe for both but we need to look at the entire field of contenders). As for the win - let's see. So far the Academy has only responded to a more lush-sounding score of his so maybe his peculiarities will leave them cold. Although Jackie did get a nod so why not Spencer or TPOTD indeed?

Jonny's scores always seem too adventurous for the Academy, he's not John Williams (who I like, but whose scores fall solidly into what you traditionally think of as a "film score"). So I think he'll continue to get nods but I find it hard to picture him winning unless it's as a coattail win for a really successful BP winner. Remember how long it took Ennio Morricone to win.

Whilst a nomination or two is quite likely, I still think Zimmer takes it in the end.

Another PTA film coming up soon after this one would be pretty cool. Don't like when he takes long gaps although the films thelselves often end up being very good.

Another PTA film coming up soon after this one would be pretty cool. Don't like when he takes long gaps although the films thelselves often end up being very good. To be fair, PTA had four kids in a pretty short time-frame, so that obviously took up a fair bit of his time. But writer-directors tend to take their time for obvious reasons, and PTA is certainly one of those directors where every release is an event. But I'm glad he's got some projects in the pipeline.
