This needs to be seen to be believed
Thoughts on this? I think almost none of these stand a chance of happening. How on earth does she thinks they are somehow the frontrunners when we have Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart, Cate Blanchett, Olivia Colman, Nicole Kidman, Jodie Comer, Frances McDormand even Halle Berry, Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz and Sandra Bullock, with many of their films being strong contenders for a BP nomination. I just scratch my head.

I just scratch my head. She only lists things she's seen - so she won't add the big names until she sees them. My friend - a film critic (he's on RT!) who knows her VERY well has often told me how dumb she is - also she has bad breath (not kidding) - I can't stand IndieWire myself - David Ehrlich might be worse than her as a film reviewer.........I find them to be the American Robbie Collin  My 3 "least" favorite film critics, I mean "movie reviewers" |

Anne Thompson always does that thing where she doesn't predict frontrunners she hasn't seen so her early predictions are usually movies out of Sundance and Cannes. I always ignore her early predictions.
Hudson and Jones seem likeliest to me on paper from what I've seen/heard. Thompson and Young? no. Reinsve? maaaaybe as a passion pick, although Jones would be an underdog passion pick too and I doubt there'd be room for both let alone either or.

Anne Thompson does not take into account films and performances she hasn't seen. She just gauges what she sees and rates what she figures as actual plausible contenders, not what will be the top five overall.
