The criticism of Biden that he’s buying votes by doing student loan forgiveness right before midterms is so funny to me. Yes, he’s buying votes. And? That’s how the game is played now, get with the fucking program. Maybe instead of whining about it, the GOP should try buying some votes too. “Oh no you can’t do that! You’re buying votes and putting the burden on taxpayers who didn’t go into debt! And we also need to send a couple billion more dollars to Ukraine!” How about the GOP do student loan forgiveness by targeting the billion dollar hedge funds masquerading as endowments run by these universities like Harvard and Yale? I’ve seen some on the right suggest that the reason republicans lost the Georgia runoffs was because they were against another round of stimulus checks while the democrats took the initiative and “bribed” the voters. Even though I think the main reason they lost the Georgia runoffs was because of Trump being a sore loser retard suppressing his own party’s vote, I do think there is some truth to that sentiment. If you’re gonna refuse to give the people some money because “fiscal responsibility”, no one is gonna buy that shit if you continuously insist on chucking money at Ukraine every month. Republicans have eagerly aided and abetted in giving Ukraine more money than Russia’s entire military budget but at the same time they think it’s irresponsible to give Americans $2,000-10,000

agree with Joaq ^ however - this move will likely (maybe?) be challenged and overturned by SCOTUS if it is challenged ........ what you have here is an another case of challenging what SCOTUS "might" do.......it's a clear drawing of lines between 2 branches of Federal Government......
Kinda fascinating chess match of "what can we get away with?"........to me anyway....

They’re goading the Court into striking this down and making themselves even more unpopular but will the Supreme Court take the bait?

Joaquim - Yes, they absolutely will. They've made it abundantly clear that they couldn't care less about public opinion.

Well.....slight uptick in the US inflation rate - 8.3 in August ......stocks tanked so far in response to this report......but fnck those investment managers blah blah blah ..... yeah that's sarcasm.....
.........will be interesting to see how this is spun - another bad month or another month which the rate has slowed ......just in time for midterms

Gas prices are down, but here's why Americans are still feeling the sting of inflation:

I once said that American voters - can vote any way they want - any time they want - don't owe an explanation to anyone, in any way - and being pissed off is in itself, alone is a reason for someone's vote. That ^ is obviously true - probably the truest thing pacinoyes ever said - and that dude spits hard, uncomfortable truths daily (oh shut up ) - and speaking of which our President has not done a sit down interview with the televised press in 219 days .......... 219 days ..........now look I'm not saying to vote against Democrats in your mid-terms, or to vote against Biden in 2024, heck I'm not saying definitively that he's necessarily worse than Carter was even .... but THAT alone is a big problem and especially ridiculous since a lot of stuff has been going on the last 219 days - and it's not like he takes questions at press conferences either yanno? He will be on 60 Minutes tonight:

Lawsuit filed on student debt - the 1st of many I'd assume - discussed earlier in this thread - I don't think this is going to fly legally but maybe it will..... I think maybe Biden - who is not the best President because he tried this as someone said earlier GTFO - kind of knew it wouldn't stand but could reap midterm rewards which it still might as this winds its way through the courts........it was / is the right political move if it can bolster the vote though..... Though that again is actually a huge problem with our last 2 morons um POTUS - just sign executive orders, circumvent your legislative bodies and pray they uphold 400 billion dollars of this student debt expenditure........like I said I'm mostly cool with it personally but.....not sure the courts will be though....but you never know....we'll see how it ends up..... WASHINGTON — An Indiana-based lawyer who works for a conservative-leaning law firm filed a lawsuit against the federal government Tuesday in an effort to block President Joe Biden's student loan forgiveness program in its first major legal challenge.
Garrison's employer, the Pacific Legal Foundation, filed a 26-page complaint on his behalf in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana against the U.S. Department of Education and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona.www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/lawsuit-seeks-block-bidens-student-debt-forgiveness-program-rcna49638
