Look man, there hasn't been a really great Rock band from this fnckin' state since the 90s (Pavement, Mr. T Experience, The Muffs?) and like LL Cool J said: "Goin back to Cali ....... I don't think so" Um Thoughts on whether he will be recalled? Larry Elder? (see link below) - really? An African-American Republican being the Governor in Cali? Would be kind of major.........if it happened............. which I doubt......... Despite a late entry to the race, conservative radio host Larry Elder has emerged as the front-runner among Republican voters in the Gavin Newsom recall election.
Elder's poll and fundraising numbers indicate strength beyond simple name recognition, and if California Democrats who vote "no" on the ballot's first question (Should Newsom be recalled?) follow the Newsom team's guidance and leave question two (who should replace Newsom?) blank, they could very well get Gov. Larry Elder should Newsom lose on question one.

I have a good amount of friends that live in Cali (Orange County area to be exact) and all of them flat out despise Newsom. Some of them even compare Newsom to being the spawn of Satan . And keep in mind a good amount of my friends that live in California are quite liberal too. IMO the citizens of California would be lucky to have a stand up / classy guy like Larry Elder as their Governor ( I don't even agree with a number of things Elder is all for BUT he would be a MASSIVE upgrade over the current Turd Sandwich that is representing their state right now). It would be refreshing to see Elder get the nod but I'm not holding my breath though.

Close numbers it seems .......so Elder "could" win with a "yes" on the recall vote and the 20%+ range in the vote per candidate...... September 14According to the CBS poll, which is based on a random sampling of 1,856 California voters from August 6th through August 12th, 52% of likely voters said that they would not vote to recall Newsom, with 48% in favor of a recall.
Among the recall candidates, the CBS poll has found that talk show host Larry Elder still leads with 23% of the vote. californiaglobe.com/section-2/new-cbs-recall-poll-has-newsom-still-in-slight-lead-elder-leading-among-candidates/

This really comes down to liberal/dem electorate apathy as always. Newsom isn't super popular and saving him might not be enough to get them off their asses. It's a Trump/Clinton dynamic all over again. Don't like one guy, don't care for the other guy, so they stay home and possibly pave the way for a crazy person to take office. However it goes down the gov will only be in office shortly until the next election (I think 2022 right?) when a dem will easily swoop back in. The question is going to be how much damage could Elder do in that short period of time and how much is he going to piss off CA dems.

There's a documentary - it's an interesting one too - though a little much to take but still worth seeing with Elder in it (and he co-wrote it) called "Uncle Tom" (2020) that looks at the Democrats generational stronghold over African American voters and sort of touches on whether that will change - the implication that will "never" change is why some people think that as a national party the Republicans won't ever win another National election......and there are people who believe that......
Really you can see in this movie how Gavin Newsom was a gift from heaven for him really ........

The polling average data from both RCP (Real Clear Politics) and 538 have shown an even split and well within margin of error. About 4.5% of California voters are in the undecided population.
It does depend on which side is more motivated. Newsom isn't really a popular guy, but having a Trumpist like Elder at the helm, might scare enough voters to keep Newsom there.

I do think that in the end Gavin Newsom will be fine. But I did find it funny that the Los Angles Times recently ran a column titled "“Larry Elder is the Black face of white supremacy. You’ve been warned,” The LA Times is one of the biggest newspapers in America and they were perfectly fine with running that column with that headline jfc www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/column-im-black-larry-elder-is-a-clear-and-present-danger-to-black-californians/ar-AANxoAF?ocid=uxbndlbingWhat a stupid ignorant headline & column. I don't even agree with Larry Elder on a number of issues but God forbid a black American decides to not fall in line with the Democrat Party. That doesn't make him a "white supremacist in black face" geez

The article was an opinion piece. It's not necessarily the opinion of the LA Times itself.
I don't think Elder's politics molds very well with the mindset of California voters as a whole.
Lets face it: California's recall system is dumb. It's just as ridiculous as the Iowa caucus. Think about it. After only 3 years of office, you can simply going to put in a proxy governor for at least 1 year. There's a reason why these recalls don't work.

Oh I agree with pretty much everything you said here. Also I was well aware it was an opinion piece but that doesn't change imo how ridiculously stupid that piece was and the fact that the editors at the LA Times approved of it lol. Just sorta messed up viewpoint to challenge a black man's "blackness" (he was born and raised in South Central LA for crying out loud) And yeah these recalls are mostly a waste of time. I think Larry Elder is just trying to get a bigger audience for his radio show by participating in it so he can get his name out there to more people. Who knows.

Latest poll #'s - really close...........:
An analysis of the latest polls by elections website FiveThirtyEight indicates that California’s Sept. 14 gubernatorial recall is too close to call.
The analysis says that 48.8% of California voters oppose the recall. Removal of first-term Gov. Gavin Newsom is backed by 47.6%.
FiveThirtyEight says that its analysis includes “an updating average of 2021 California gubernatorial recall election polls, accounting for each poll’s quality, recency, and sample size.”
The other big takeaway offered by FiveThirtyEight: 19.3% of voters would replace Newsom with Republican Larry Elder.
Democrat Kevin Paffrath is second at 9.1%, followed by Republican John Cox at 6.1%, among the replacement candidates.

Elder is basically conceding defeat with these fraud claims. Pathetic. Not even Loeffler and Purdue were this thirsty. Ultimately doesn't matter because Newsom will beat this recall and [hopefully] a better dem will replace in the next election and the balance will be restored. I know the polls were really close in August but September polls all point to Newsome having a 10-15 point advantage going into today. When it gets time to vote, I think enough CA dems understand they don't want anti-choice Larry Elder as governor, especially not now.

When it gets time to vote, I think enough CA dems understand they don't want anti-choice Larry Elder as governor, especially not now. Yup and by claiming fraud preemptively (Trump also said it was rigged a few days before the election) he suppressed his own vote too. I thought it was unusual seeing the blowout win for Newsom since the polls implied it would be closer (turns out they can severely underestimate AND overestimate Republicans’ chances) and you also had mainstream California media going scorched earth on elder as if they were actually worried about. Then you look at the voter numbers and it makes sense, even though barely 70% of the votes have been counted. Twice as many Republicans showed up to vote for Trump in 2020, they did not come out for the recall But no I guess the game plan with the media panicking over Elder was to just turn the recall into a de facto Elder vs Newsom race rather than a simple referendum on Newsom, making it an easier election for him to win. Well played, Democrats

Well, I was raised in OC so there's no liberal explosion or anything like that. We did call it the Orange Curtain for a reason, though.

This was just a testing.- The real fight starts next year where people should decide that their cities will look like Miami or like Detroit.- California people are already emigrate to more safetier states.- I guess the exodus will continuing.-
so the other question is that if One bad apple can spoil the bunch, if liberal rich people continue to emigrate to Arizona, Nevada, Texas and even Utah.-
