The opposite of This thread - sort of; what are some songs you can't listen to without thinking of a movie (be it because of a character, the world-building or general feeling it evokes) in which the said song isn't actually used? Think of it as adding one track or two to a proper motion picture soundtrack. Like, "Stardust" for L.A Confidential and Paper Moon. It doesn't fit within the latter if we want to take the timelines seriously... but let's not.

Well I could go nuts in this thread so I'll restrain myself and just do one - but I've often said the fact that this song in this version isn't linked either to an over the credits endings sequence or even a montage in any movie that comes to mind.......is kind of baffling......I mean Before Sunrise for one.... Lost in Translation.....etc. I even thought it would work as an ironic, creepy commentary at the end of The Piano Teacher

Made me think of this one, musically:

Always thought that The Breakfast Club - was weirdly missing music like "Wishing" by Flock of Seagulls - it's about a lot of things that are in the movie........it matches John Hughes synth-pop preferences almost exactly, whenever I hear this song (heard it today!), the movie plays in my head.....and it sounds like Bowie too which is exactly the kind of stuff he likes to throw into his movies.....it's so 80s it's almost ........painful/funny

The Beatles Sexy Sadie with Lolita (Humbert is Sadie)
Sympathy for the Devil with Full Metal Jacket or Dirty Harry
Weezer's El Scorcho (and really Pinkerton generally) with Rushmore
Radiohead's No Surprises with those Sam Mendes and American Beauty like suburban movies
Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence with Blade Runner
