He Produced Netflix New Darling Sweet Tooth, so he will be an A List stars for many more years.-
Now with his wife he will produce the films that he wants, and if there are at least half of good as Sweet Tooth is he will gain another Oscar Nomination (as actor, producer, writer or director) any time soon.-

Good discussion here in this thread ( I will be honest here, I'm sorta conflicted ). My favorite Downey role still remains to be David Fincher's Zodiac (which was the start of the Downey Jr come back tour) And I'm on record that Downey Jr has (hands down) the best / most successful comeback in Hollywood (of all time). He was a complete train wreck, junkie/crack head & late night punch line for quite some time. Very glad he turned his life around and has become mega successful ( I read online recently that his net worth is north of $300 million ) Downey & his family are set for life. That being said , I can't say I'm that big of a fan of him overall. He frequently comes across as a smug prick in many interviews over the years. For example, he dissed lower budget / independent films in an interview with Entertainment Weekly Radio (while promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron ). Because they’re exhausting and sometimes they suck and then you just go, ‘What was I thinking?’ But I’m interested in doing all different kinds of movies. Sometimes the little movies are the ones that wind up taking the most out of you because they’re like, ‘Hey, man, we’re just running a couple of days behind. Do you think you can stay through your birthday and then come back on the fourth of July. And, by the way, but, like, the crew—can you pay for the craft services? And, oh, by the way, man, when we go to Sundance, it’s like, can we just sit you in a chair and you can sell this for six days in a row so that we’ll make 180 bucks when it opens in one theater? God, this is so powerful what we’re doing. What do you think of the movie? You saw it last night?'” “I thought it’s mediocre.”
“Yeah, isn’t it the greatest?! Man, everyone’s an artist here.”
“Actually, most of you are kind of inexperienced and lame.” www.indiewire.com/2015/05/what-robert-downey-jr-got-wrong-in-his-172-words-about-independent-film-62478/I won't deny his comeback success of course but damn he seems like such a cocky/arrogant little twerp at times. I don't give a shit if Sherlock Holmes 3 ever gets made tbh. I don’t think he said anything wrong about working on independent movies tbh and I’d guess many other established actors agree with him. That’s not to say they don’t have their benefit, but end product aside, the experience is comparable to staying at a hostel vs a luxury hotel. And on a side note, it kind of irritates me how some always put independent films on a pedestal above studio films. Not that there aren’t a lot of greatindependent films, but there are quite a lot of crappy ones too. Oh no doubt that there are quite a lot of crappy indie films (and that probably there are a good amount of actors who agree with his comments but imo he should have kept it to himself instead of calling them "lame". Also, I still stand by my opinion that RDJ came across smug /rude as hell in that interview. No one put a gun to his head to star in an independent film. Again, he's had an unbelievable/ mega successful comeback which is impressive as hell but he needs to lay off the smug attitude. Thats all I was getting at.

Well, if all else fails, he's always got his podcast/YouTube channel to fall back on:

Well, if all else fails, he's always got his podcast/YouTube channel to fall back on: Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes just sold their podcast to Amazon for 80 mil so I'm pretty sure RDJ will be able to do that also. By the way QT announced he's working on one too.

You can come up with any old basic concept or product and sell it off for multi-millons within a few years (like George Clooney and his tequila brand)

I was shocked when I read it sold for that much. They were bored during the height of the pandemic and started the podcast. RDJ has a lot of charisma so his show will do well.

strange. Like, he's obviously a very technically-gifted actor when he chooses to be (Chaplin, Natural Born Killers, Tropic Thunder, etc.), but I also don't really give a damn about many of his credits. I have a tough time understanding why some 22 year old in 2021 who hasn't even seen many of his non-MCU films would care about Downey Jr.
