On the East Coast, these things are EVERYWHERE. They appear every seventeen years (this batch does, anyway, and there's the largest batch), and the trees are deafening.
They smell like asparagus when fried, and taste... well, they don't have much taste. They sorta absorb what they're cooked in.

Nope, but I eat rosted Ants in Colombia, they called hormigas culonas, and taste as a rosted peanut.-
