Alright. We are going to start the 60s and see what this forum thinks are the best films of the decade.
I need a list of your Top 25 movies from the 60s! Any film that came out between the dates of January 1, 1960 and December 31, 1969 will be eligible. If you aren't sure if something qualifies, please ask below and I or someone who knows better can respond.
Deadline will be NOVEMBER 18, 2021. That should be enough time to tally ballots and get reviews if anyone wants to do them.IF ANYONE HAS POSTED IN THIS THREAD AND HASN'T SENT IN A BALLOT BY THIS TIME, EXPECT TO GET YELLED AT.
PLEASE try to watch a few movies to catch up before submitting a ballot. I would much rather have a bunch of ballots show up at the end than at the beginning.
Feel free to FYC below!

I can run the 50s unless someone else has already claimed it even though I probably won't vote myself. as for the 60s, it's my absolute favorite decade. I'll do some FYCs later for maybe some lesser-known gems. The obvious greats will always place in these kinda lists ( Lawrence of Arabia better well be in the top 10) but hopefully some voters will have some time to seek out some of the more obscure greats!

I think it would be good to have a longer deadline like with the 1970s, as we go back in time many of us probably haven't seen some movies. Maybe October-November, Martin Stett?

I'll take that into account. I'm thinking that later would be better for me as well, if I guess at my schedule. Thanksgiving time would actually be a perfect date for me, as I know that I wouldn't be working that weekend.

Attention: If you want to write reviews, notify me here or in a PM.
Depending on how many volunteers we get, I plan on having reviews for some or all of the films on the list. I'll likely just do the top 50 or top 25, as well over half of the voters would be required to write five reviews if we did all 100. But I'm gonna put out a call here, all the same.

I still haven't seen a single William Klein film; is Mr. Freedom his best one to start with? Also The Parallel Street I haven't seen any of his documentaries, but of his three satirical works I think it's a good place to start, even though Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? is probably his more accessible work and a better introduction to his ironic satirical style. But, you can't go wrong with any of them.

I agree that this is another stacked decade, it's quite underrated. Another few movies that deserve a watch for this poll, besides the obvious ones that will appear on the list. Rocco e i suoi fratelli (Luchino Visconti) Hour of the wolf (Ingmar Bergman) Army of Shadows (Jean-Pierre Melville) The Trial (Orson Welles) I Am Cuba (Mikhail Kalazotov) If... (Lindsay Anderson) The Cremator (Juraj Herz) Playtime (Jacques Tati) Onibaba (Kaneto Shindo)
