A sequel to Rebellion has been announced. The only news so far is that the title roughly translates to "Walpurgis' Turning Point." No official release date has been announced, but 2022 is speculated. I think that if they can, a Walpurgis release date (30 April) would be the way to go, since the title explicitly refers to the festival. Anyway, I'm gonna change my pants now. Thoughts on this sequel, all two of you familiar with the PMMM franchise?

Heard about this a few weeks ago. Really don't see why a follow-up to Rebellion is necessary, or where the hell the story can even go from this point, but then again, I thought Rebellion would be an unnecessary follow-up to the series before watching it, and only the film itself changed my mind. So, I'll trust they know what they're doing (the same showrunners/writing staff are involved, I believe) and wait in excitement.

Yeah, I was apprehensive about Rebellion, but a seemingly unnecessary sequel (how the hell do you have anything new to say?) wound up being a vital second chapter that recontextualized my view of the whole story. Unfortunately, it has been eight years, and I'm wondering if Gen Urobuchi has been spending those years trying to figure out how the hell to continue from that sequel hook he left dangling while still having something new to say. But if he did it once, he can do it again. I have faith in him and Shinbo. Kajiura is returning to score and the cast is back of course, so if nothing else I'm betting that the movie will be a feast for the eyes and ears.

If these motherfuckers troll us by saying that December is technically part of Winter 2024... it will be right on brand
