Not really good for a Guy Ritchie movie. I thought it'd do better.

Not really good for a Guy Ritchie movie. I thought it'd do better. His movies outside of Sherlock Holmes and Aladdin, don't tend to do huge business, so it's actually in line with what his regular crime / action movies do. Plus I'd be surprised if the budget was really that high. The Gentlemen was made rather cheap for example, Wrath of Man doesn't look all that much more "high concept" in comparison.

All of this (why on earth would anyone expect it to be a hit?) plus we're still very much living in Covid times, and while some event movies do start to break through, this was never one of them.

www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/2021W19/?ref_=bo_hm_rwEverything goes exactly as projected. Mortal Kombat's big giant tumble. Here Today also probably would have done better, had Sony bothered to promote it, it had the second best debut of all of their acquistions after The Broken Hearts Gallery.
