I know me and Pacinoyes talked about him a bit somewhere, but have any of you other guys seen this? I feel like it was ridiculously committed work and shocked me with his abandon.

I really hated him in it (the only performance I liked on the show was Jennifer Jason Leigh) and gave up with only one episode left. Maybe I should finish it but it really rubbed me the wrong way and I barely remember why.

I feel like pretty much everyone I've spoken to about it thought it was by far Cumberbatch's best acting, like forcing a re-evaluation of his talent. If you remember why you hated his perf, let me know.

He's terrific - it's kind of a tour de force in how he repeatedly adds some unique wrinkle as he goes along the make the character hard to pin down as victim or sociopath or both - it's a very thought out piece of acting that could get repetitive but doesn't because of him (or he doesn't at least even if the plot does).......and he should have won the Emmy imo but lost out to Darren Criss - who aside from a couple of scenes was an overrated performance.
Cumberbatch is the world's best actor on TV imo .......He's been nodded 6 times for an Emmy and won once....and could have been nodded more (Brexit for one....).....he needs to translate what he's done on TV and theater - an amazing Olivier winning performance in Frankenstein, 3 Olivier nods - to film.
I'm predicting him this year to get Oscar nodded for Power of The Dog because the character in the book is a stupendous one .........
