I'm in love with the universe of Witcher 3.

The world(s) of Mass Effect. Everything that's been mentioned so far are also stuff I love.

Mass Effect for sure. So rich and well developed. The Arkham Universe is quite amazing as well. The Dragon Age universe is also another fantastic one.

It's not really a universe, but the Golden Age of Final Fantasy (6-10) produced some really amazing stories and worlds.

Nothin' tops the Metal Gear 'verse. I've only played the first three MGS games (the previous ones were before my time). Silly as they are, I can't deny that the games have a fun 'verse of crazies to hang around with. Out of curiosity, have you ever read The Last Days of Foxhound? It's a fanfic that every MG fan should try giving a shot, even if they wind up disliking it.

Definitely gotta get on Metal Gear Solid 4 if nothing else. I do recommend Phantom Pain as well, as it sort of closes the loop on the franchise's timeline.

That's a pretty good sign that someone did their fanfic right. I just got me a PS3, so I'll get on that... eventually. Just started Mass Effect 3 today. Damn those smoke grenades and enemies that actually understand flanking. Damn them, I say. Once I'm done with that, though, I have a whole list of stuff to play; Batman Arkham, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Journey, Bioshock... so I don't know when I'd get around to MGS. It's on the list, and I don't have a set order to these games. But off the top of my head, there's tons of stuff to try.

I'd recommend Metal Gear Solid 4 first, then Bioshocks 1, 2 and Infinite, then The Last of Us, then the Uncharted series. That's more or less how I played the franchises when I got into them.
