Yeah, these are pretty tame. The most controversial one is probably the producer saying he thought Boseman's performance was terrible.
I still think Boseman's winning, but it's nice to see all the love for Hopkins!

Producers are always the one who aren't the brightest bulbs out there.

I agree with that producer. I turned off Ma Rainey's BB fairly quickly, and I thought Boseman strong in 42/Get on Up.

Another producer that doesn't sound like the brightest bulb in the box...

She's so wrong about Mank. Publicists shouldn't be allowed to vote, what the hell do they know about films anyway???

That is something that someone said. Yes, really.
The same genius said this.

Is that a vote for Hopkins? I think this might end up like the Close vs Colman situation in which people assume Close is gonna win hence they end up choosing their personal pick.

Is that a vote for Hopkins? I think this might end up like the Close vs Colman situation in which people assume Close is gonna win hence they end up choosing their personal pick. And if I recall, two years ago, a bunch of these "honest Oscar ballots" seemed quite cold on Close. Most of these "honest Oscar voter" confessions I've read this year seem to favor Hopkins. They also seem to favor Cohen over Kaluuya... I mean this is just a handful out of almost 9000 voters but still. I wouldn't be surprised, esp. the BAFTAs that Hopkins might have the majority of the European voters support. Wether or not that will edge the win to Hopkin's favor remains to be seen. I still think Boseman probably wins, but it's getting to be a much tighter race than previously predicted.

This is easily the most well-thought and reasonable of those I have ever read.

Probably the best, smartest, insightful, most well-thought out "brutally honest Oscar ballot" I've read ever and showed someone who had seen a lot and not just chasing the popular opinion while barely bothering to watch the films or any films -- a ridiculously low bar. Though, I don't like this "great speech at X award show is partly why I'm voting" bullshit that seems ingrained in every Oscar voter, but everything else was articulated very well. Yet another one that voices support for Hopkins and admits not like Boseman's turn. This really is getting close. The voter makes a great case for The Father could (and should) win adapted screenplay, I e.g. can see the writing and even acting branches going for it for this reason too. Hope more voters are like him and choose the same 4 acting winners

Hmmm, a director who talks about how certain movies lose power on a smaller screen, bemoans the fact that Tenet was a "punching bag" this season and how it was snubbed in Original Score, praises Tenet's VFX while dismissing the other VFX nominees as stuff we've already seen before, believes Tenet would have the Sound category "sewn up" if it weren't for people taking issue with the unusual style of mix, and gives thoughtful explanations for all his other choices, unlike the vast majority of other anonymous voters............. maybe it's Christopher Nolan. This part made me shake my head though: Love that they're voting for Soul, but I hate that this is still the barometer some people use to judge a score... as if having easy-to-remember, John Williams-esque melodies is the only way a score can be worthy of an Oscar.

I bristle at this. I can't remember a moment of The Social Network's score (or Mank for that matter, and I like both movies), and that's an Oscar-winning triumph allegedly.

That's a shame, I actually find TSN score to be extremely memorable in its textural layering and timbral manipulation, and think it's one of the best scores of the last decade...

Here's 5 more
Love voter #1 and hate voter #5. Surprised by all White Tiger love in adapted screenplay. Hopkins and Mulligan continue to get a lot of love, but Cohen and Day are also doing very well.
