I've read the book and it's terrific. This is a huge actor vehicle, it will get Holland a lot of attention, so I hope he will be up to the task. I don't like Akiva Goldsman, but he wrote some good episodes for Fringe.

Wasn't Leo attached to this project at one point, back when it was going to be a film??

I'm very interested in this. Holland is starting to really show that he is capable of more adult roles, and while Cherry and The Devil All the Time left a lot to be desired, he was wholly committed in both (and in the former's case, really the only reason to watch it).

I remember reading how big of a "passion project" its been for Leo for a long time (apparently since 1997 ) Well, Netflix recently released a documentary series about Billy Milligan and judging from the trailer it looks fascinating. I could totally see Leo in the lead role and absolutely crush it (and get his 2nd Best Actor Oscar win) IMO it would be awesome if David Fincher directed it (he did recently sign a big 4 film deal with Netflix after all) Here is an old article about it (before The Revenant was even released in theaters) www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/leonardo-dicaprios-passion-project-inside-780385/Thoughts? too good to be true?

Going from Leo to that little Spiderboy twerp is such a kick to the nuts. Its bad enough that he has been cast as Nathan Drake for the Uncharted prequel. What's next? Shia LeBeouf as H.H. Holmes for The Devil in the City?

Holland is certainly capable of delivering a stellar performance (which he has also already proven at a young age with The Impossible).

I've seen The Devil all the Time on Netflix and wasn't really impressed. Haven't seen Cherry though. All I was just getting at is that is this was Leo's "passion project" for decades and for it to be handed over to Tom Holland is a pretty big letdown imo. I'll try to keep an open mind though. Hope its good.

This looks amazing........ .DiCap I guess is too old for this now but it's basically like the male version of Sally Field in Sybil (1976) with a criminal side added in..........I mean it practically writes itself............

He was 27 when they filmed Catch Me If You Can (playing a teenager and he pulled it off ) as well as a mid 20s aspiring stockbroker in the beginning of The Wolf of Wall Street.

I didn't read the article, but how does that make sense? She's 10 years older than Holland.

reviews are in and they couldn't be worse. 10% on Rotten TomatoesAnother critical misfire for Holland apart from the MCU, and he's been saying how difficult this one was to make too and that he wanted to take a break from acting because of it. This has to hurt for him

The mileage from his amazing performance in that movie and his Lip Sync Battle dance to “Umbrella” is running out I think Marvel and the fame from it ruined him. He could’ve had a good trajectory. Also it doesn’t seem like he’s as passionate about acting/his career as one would expect. He’s talked about retiring and starting a family and becoming a landlord
