And if so, or if not, how much will it claim opening weekend?
To reference other openers: World War Z (2013) is the highest opener with 66 million. Hannibal (2002) is the highest R-rated opening with 58 million. The Conjuring (2013) is the highest opening for an original horror film.
Horror films usually tread the 25 million mark, but with the amount of interest in IT, the current most-viewed trailer in 24 hours, and the extremely positive reactions, we could be looking at a monstrous opening.

I'd say between 40 and 45 million, but it could easily go higher.

Trailer views are promising though they don't always mean a lot. Currently I'm going with 45m opening weekend.

Well 3 people can hold their heads high, although I'm guessing none of those three would have gone for over $110m.
