Kind of a shady thread, but whose snubs actually pleased you?
Mine's easy: Sorkin for Best Director. The final ten minutes should've precluded him from ever being in the race to begin with.

Sorkin for Best Director, followed by Mank in screenplay. I was kind of happy Ma Rainey's and One Night in Miami missed BP too.

Sorkin in BD obviously. Da 5 Bloods which was a mess. Tenet for score, which was blaring headache-inducing noise mixed awfully into the film's soundscape.

I'm not 'delighted" at all but I think it's better that Boseman didn't got a supporting nomination for Da 5 Blood (especially as the lone acting nomination for the movie or even as the second nomination for the whole movie). It's a performance that, to me, doesn't deserves any kind of awards attention (it's like the 4-5th best performance of the movie) that for obvious reason got a lot of lazy votes during the whole season, overshadowing much more deserving performances like the one given by Clarke Peters. AND he's probably winning Best Actor (for an oscar worthy performance) so no need for more unnecessary laziness/pity.

Mank's mess of a screenplay. And then of course, you know, Jared Leto.

I was afraid that Da 5 Bloods would score a lot of nods, and I'm so thankful it didn't (even though I feel a bit sorry for Delroy Lindo – such a great borderline supporting role).

As I taught the kids at the YMCA when I was a camp counselor, it is really not kind to root against someone. But it's obviously Aaron Sorkin.

And while I think it's not polite to root against someone, it's the smugness of the film's tone that galls me, especially when it misrepresented David Dellinger so thoroughly all for the sake of dramatic convenience. And I'd even forgive that if the film had a directorial verve that rose above the level of "competent." I really do think Tom Hooper's win broke the directors' branch permanently, and in a good way. We're starting to see them making bolder choices, going off the beaten path, recognizing auteurs and international filmmakers rather than just making it another Best Picture category.

Sorkin in director, who I most definitely cannot believe was ever in the race to begin with. I'm not HAPPY about the Mank screenplay snubaroo, but it really is incredibly funny on a cosmic level. One Night and Miami and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom which I'm not sure were ever really in to begin with, but I'm glad neither got a look at picture or director. The former getting that screenplay nom is a little irritating, but I guess I can live with it. The Leto one too, obviously. Another that I can't believe was ever a thing.

Agree with the ones mentioned...except Mank.
Since I guess it had an outside chance, happy First Cow didn’t get in for screenplay.

I really wonder what they have would voted for if the Oscars had had the same system BAFTA had until a few years ago, with each branch voting for their own awards. We could have expected some wild wins.

Sorkin in director, Cherry in Cinematography and Ma Rainey in adapted screenplay (needed actual adapting). I agree with the Ma Rainey, Adapted Screenplay snub. The film had almost the exact same words as August Wilson's play which didn't need stage directing when they had the director of the play, George C. Wolfe, right there on the set.
