I just love how pathetically desperate for attention they are, i.e. releasing statements about the failure of the Golden Globes by essentially going 'Na-na-na-naaa-na, we're gonna be beeeetter, we have better preseeenters' when in fact some of their presenters are the same that were at GGs and most of the others are basically nobodies. I bet their chairman is waking up in the middle of the night in cold sweat for not foreseeing that Jodie Foster would become more of a part of the awards talk.

I’ve been following the Oscars for 20 years religiously and even I’m not interested in watching this. That’s how useless they are. They are useless but their desperation to remain a relevant precursor is hilarious. Their desperation to be a real Oscar precursor instead of an actual independent awards group is exactly what stops them from from being taken seriously as one. The funny thing is if they actually just cared about awarding what they believe are the best of the year instead of predicting the Oscars (and actually had real critics in their memberships instead of pundits and bloggers) they actually COULD be a big deal given their relatively large platform. |
