I just finished the filmography of Alejandro Jodorowsky, and it was incredible. However, I thought Tusk (1980) was just plain awful.

Despise is a strong word, but I certainly disliked these films:
Quentin Tarantino - The Hateful Eight Paul Thomas Anderson - Inherent Vice Joel and Ethan Coen - Intolerable Cruelty Woody Allen - Whatever Works, Melinda and Melinda David Lynch - Dune Francis Ford Coppola - The Godfather: Part III David Fincher - The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Panic Room, Alien 3, The Game

Despise is too strong a word, but A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy was Woody Allen's weakest. Still decent, but just not up to his usual standards. Unfaithfully Yours was a major misstep for Preston Sturges.

Let's go with dislike here, and off the top of my head:
Inside Llewyn Davis The Shining Fight Club & Gone Girl (get your shit together Mr. F) The Dark Knight
Now lets go with hate from a director I quite like:
Black Swan

No judgement, just curious. I felt it veered too much away from Batman as a central character and as I wasn't that taken with the Nolan vision of the Joker, I wasn't feeling it on that main Batman villain level. I would have preferred a lot more Two-Face and a lot less Joker actually. Also, in terms of the main plot/s themselves, I just felt they were all quite flat and uninteresting, and I didn't feel Nolan brought any life into them onscreen. I never felt invested in anything or one. I can't point out one particular thing I hated about the film, it's just a lot of small things that add up to me having a general attitude of 'meh' for it, which borders in my mind on dislike.

I've had people in real life recoil in visible shock when I tell them I'm not a fan

REALLY not a fan of "Inland Empire". Lynch and low-res digital are not a good fit.

Wes Anderson was my favorite filmmaker for a long while (Rushmore is my favorite movie ever, and The Royal Tenenbaums is third) but my lord, I hated Moonrise Kingdom so much it turned me off of his films entirely for awhile. I avoided The Grand Budapest Hotel for months because I figured it'd just be Moonrise Kingdom redux. I ended up loving that one and figured maybe I'd been too harsh on MK. Revisted it and hated it even more the second time.

Didn't care too much for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (directed by David Fincher). While I didn't totally despise it , I felt it was too much of a rip off of Forrest Gump.
also The Neon Demon . I love all Refn's films that I've seen except for that one. Just way too out there even for a guy like me lol.
