How many shows do you "commit" to watching at any given time (not really counting current shows that release only one episode per week)? Do you set a limit for yourself and don't start a whole new show until you've finished one you're already in the process of watching, or do you just watch a ton of shows and jump around in a kind of fragmented way depending on what you're currently in the mood for? Do you typically watch at least one comedy and one drama show at any given time, or do you go through periods where you're only watching comedy shows or only drama series? I used to treat TV shows in the same way that I read books - one at a time. I've never been able to read more than one book at a time because I just like focusing completely on the one thing and committing to it fully... it helps me go back to it consistently so that I don't abandon it, forget what I read, and have go back and reread stuff. With TV shows, however, I've just become more impatient because there are just too many shows that I want to check out, so it satiates my appetite better to watch at least a couple shows at a time. I like watching a drama series consistently while also gradually making my way through a comedy series that maybe doesn't demand consistent viewing.

Just 1.
I typically don't like to watch shows as they go on, unless those are really major shows that I can't miss, or they're live TV. Not many of those, if really any.
I just like to watch a show from beginning to finish all in one barrage after their run ended. That makes me more enamored and engages me with more of a scintillating effect. I finished Dawson's Creek, The OC, watching One Tree Hill currently, and will watch Futurama after that. This was what I've been doing since September and probably taking me 8 months to finish all of those. Only 2 of those shows I saw during their actual run as they went on.

Most of the times, just one.
It's a very rare thing for me to watch two shows at the same time.

Just one, with one episode a day.
And I don't watch currently airing shows, I wait until I can watch them one ep a day.

If I'm binging it, then it's just one. If I'm watching as it airs, then it ranges from as few as 3 or 4 to upwards of 10.
