RIP - and he had notable success in all mediums. A lot of people will list his film/TV roles but he was a dedicated stage actor too and a GREAT co-star to some big guys - you often see him be very generous to co-stars - he was exceptional at that. The definition of a consummate professional........ AND he did some daring stuff too that's almost forgotten now - Pacino's co-star in his first Tony winning role Does A Tiger Wear A Necktie? and playing gay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of the curve for that in TV's That Certain Summer (1972) opposite Martin Sheen on TV. One of his best turns......and most important ones also. What a life and long career.......

Damn not Hal! This makes his role in Into The Wild all the more poignant for me. He was an excellent actor of stage and screen, I probably remember him best as Deepthroat from All The Presidents Men, but he got his career started by playing the definite Mark Twain on stage, and played it for decades + amazingly. RIP Mr. Holbrook!

Incredible run and such a wonderful talent. I recommend checking out Rituals if you need a Holbrook fix. RIP.

This one hurts. Such a brilliant character actor. He was heartbreaking in Into the Wild and unforgettable in All the President's Men. Both intense and deeply sensitive. May he rest in peace.
