Bad decade for Hollywood... That's a hot take, care to elaborate? I hate all these for example Robert Redford/Dustin Hoffman films, don't get me wrong both big movie stars, but I don't likes their films from that decade.- I prefer the elegance of European films that were in their zenith films like Il Giardino dei Finzi Contini or Nicholas and Alexandra, and Bergman and Buñuel. That started to change with Jaws and Star Wars.- By the early 80s, the European film bussiness was broke, Hollywood re-started in the 80s with ET.-

Lol a lot of people don't need to seek any new movies out to make their list, moviesinner. Why not? Exploring aspects of cinema one is unfamiliar with and watching new, unknown films is an activity I've always found incredibly interesting and that probably applies to most cinefiles as well. I don't doubt that most people on here can come up with a decent list based on the stuff they've already seen, but watching new films and exploring directors one is unfamilliar with, isn't a bad thing is it? I always try to seek out most films that are recommended on threads and I'm just giving some urge or motivation for more people to do so. If you or Viced don't feel the need to watch more stuff, then don't. I won't hold that against you. But you can, at least, contribute some recommendations of your own to this thread for people who are interested in broadening their cinematic horizons (who I assume are the majority on here) instead of just scolding me for highlighting that a cinefile should always strive to improve their film knowledge. Because that is the essence of being a cinefile.

It's like I wanna submit my final project, but the button ain't on yet. lol

Maybe you might catch a film or two in the next few months you haven't seen before that you consider great and can enter your final list, who knows?

Not sure it will make my ballot, but of course one of Dario Argento's masterpieces deserves an FYC

I still have tons of movies to watch We all do. I have already watched several of the recommendations on here I hadn't seen before (all pretty good/great) and several other stuff from the decade I had lined up, amounting to 30 films or so, and I still haven't seen most of the stuff I wanted to and in the meantine I could come across even more films I'd like to watch. There's so much interesting stuff out there that even a whole lifetime of movie-watching wouldn't be enough to fit everything in.
