I've got plenty I want to watch before voting, so I'll probably end up cutting it close to the deadline. In the meantime, please consider the masterful comedies of Elaine May:

I wish my ballot could've been 50 instead of 25. There's just so many good movies.

countjohn, always nice to find another Love Story fan. MacGraw was just divine.

countjohn , always nice to find another Love Story fan. MacGraw was just divine. It's my favorite of that year. It's so famous it feels like it's not the kind of thing that needs an FYC but I know it is not the most popular movie on here and is probably not picking up a ton of votes. I will acknowledge a lot of the dialogue is cheesy and O'Neal is pretty bad but to me the great strength is the direction. It has so much warmth, along with Doctor Zhivago it's probably the movie I'd say is most able to capture the feeling of falling in love, and especially young, innocent love before you've had too many disappointments. Also MacGraw turns in one of those instant starmaking performances, a bit like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday, and I really like Milland in it too. The subtle way he plays that last scene just kills me every time.

Late FYC, but the recent discussion about Liv Ullmann in the poll thread led to me watching 40 Carats last night which I really liked. Very light, but in a rare good observation in a Letterboxd review someone said Ullmann's performance was a testament to playing comedy like it's drama, which is what she did here to great success. Not going to edit my ballot I already sent in and it probably would not have made it anyway, but glossy romantic movies like that are very much my kind of thing and Ullmann is top notch as always. It's gonna be too light for some people, though and it did take some shortcuts in the third act which keeps it from being even better than it is.

Is My Night at Maud's considered 69 or 70?

Is My Night at Maud's considered 69 or 70? Letterboxd and Imdb have it as a 1969 film, so I'd consider it a 1969 film. Pretty good film, but not among Rohmer's best for me. But it's nice to see it getting a vote.

I thought turnout would be higher at this point, maybe we could tag someone who usually votes but hasn't yet? Or people who have posted on the thread who may have forgotten about it.
