not so much a lineups thread as a place for us to pimp 2020 scores we loved, because I have a ton of movies left to see and I know I'm not the only one.
I'll say this for starters: I know most people skipped Wendy but the score by Dan Romer & Benh Zeitlin is gorgeous & stirring and makes the film worth checking out all on its own IMO.
right now I'm just segregating the scores I enjoyed so I can revisit them and rank them later, and right now the ones that have stood out are: Driveways - Jay Wadley Soul - Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Wendy - Dan Romer & Benh Zeitlin Wonder Woman 1984 - Hans Zimmer
what are the scores y'all are loving so far?

I've got myself a perfect lineup and highly doubt anything will break into it:
1. TENET by Ludwig Göransson
2. SOUL by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Jon Batiste
3. MANK by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross
4. THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF DAVID COPPERFIELD by Christopher Willis
5. WOLFWALKERS by Bruno Coulais, Kila

Other than Tenet, the other film that had some great music in it, which helped create it's lurid, uneasy atmosphere was Berlin Alexanderplatz. Nothing else really stood out.

Tenet should definitely be there and I'll be very happy if it actually wins, let me tell you.

Ludwig’s baby will grow up to be some sort of genius and there should be studies to see if Tenet’s score can have a similar lore as Mozart.

My favorite score of year comes from the underseen Wander Darkly. It's a fascinating, though flawed film, but its score is exquisite.

One of the many things I hated about Ammonite was how it completely underutilized O'Halloran & Bertelmann's score. I remember when the music kicks in in like the last 10 minutes and I was shouting "finally!!" God that movie was such a drag. nice seeing Wendy in your list. Feel like practically no one has seen it. Found it incredibly messy myself but it had some lovely, sublime moments and the music was a big part of that.

Christopher Willis's score for Personal History of David Copperfield is really pretty. Feels old-school, like something out of a 90s period piece, with sweeping, classically-inspired orchestral arrangements. Works even better in context of the film (which is a delight!). This will be hard to knock out of my top five.
